UPDATE 5 June 2025:
All in order, back to normal. See you today in Cologne!
UPDATE 4 June 2025:
By car or by plane: It is possible to travel to and from the fairgrounds by car via the motorway and the "Zoobrücke" bridge without any problems. Connections from the airport to the fairgrounds are also unaffected.
Public transport and trains: On Wednesday, the tram line 14 will continue to run in both directions between the "Koelnmesse" stop on Deutz-Mülheimer-Strasse (opposite the Dorint Hotel) and the main railway station ("Kölner Hauptbahnhof"). This connection will only be interrupted during the actual defusing work. Defusing is not expected before 16.00 CET. A connection to the long-distance Deutsche Bahn trains (IC, ICE) is possible from the main railway station ("Kölner Hauptbahnhof").
At the fairgrounds, we will open the Entrance North for visitors and exhibitors at 07.00 CET on Wednesday, where coffee and seating will be available.
As usual, exhibitors will be able to enter the exhibition halls from 08.00 CET, and the Curie restaurant on the exhibition boulevard will open at 08.00 CET. Visitors can enter the exhibition halls from 09.00 CET.
In addition, the exhibition halls and the Open Air Plaza will remain open until late on Wednesday. Some exhibitors will extend their stand parties accordingly.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly on-site at the Exhibition Office (Boulevard opposite hall 7) or by email at info[at]angacom.de.
_______
Three unexploded bombs from the Second World War were found in Cologne today. They are expected to be defused on Wednesday, 4 June 2025. Parts of Cologne will be closed and evacuated for this purpose. The measures are to begin in stages from 8.00 CET on Wednesday. According to the information currently available, defusing is expected to take place on Wednesday afternoon or evening.
Parts of the Cologne city center and the side of the Rhine where the Cologne fairgrounds are located are affected. Our exhibition halls are not affected. Access and exit via the “Zoobrücke” bridge and the motorway is also possible. ANGA COM can therefore take place as normal.
Nevertheless, traffic between the city center and the fairgrounds is expected to be affected by the closures on Wednesday. Several Rhine bridges are also expected to be temporarily closed in the late afternoon or evening. The trams are scheduled to run outside the actual defusing times (late afternoon or evening), including over the bridges and to/from the "Koelnmesse" stop on Deutz-Mülheimer-Str.
This also applies to the hotels located in the evacuation area on Wednesday. We therefore strongly recommend that you use the map linked below to check whether your accommodation is affected by the closures and contact the hotel if necessary. The Cologne hotels within the evacuation area have started a self-help campaign and are rebooking guests in consultation with other hotels outside the evacuation area. Due to the special circumstances, ANGA COM will remain open until late on Wednesday. Some exhibitors will extend their stand parties accordingly.
Here you can find a map of the evacuation area.
ANGA COM will start as planned on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, at 9.00 CET.
Yours sincerely
Your ANGA COM
